Tandoori Prawn & Ginger Dumplings
Tandoori Prawn & Ginger Dumplings
Homemade tandoori dumplings are easier to make than you think, and you can completely customize your fillings!
 
Ingredients:
For tandoori marinade:
• 150g/ cup thick natural yogurt
• 1 tsp ginger & garlic paste.
• ¼ tsp turmeric
• ¼ tsp red chilli powder
• ½ tsp garam masala
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• ¼ tsp salt
 
For dough:
• 1½ cup plain flour
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 tsp oil
• ½ cup water
 
For stuffing:
• 2 tsp sesame oil
• 1 pound shrimp/ prawns, peeled, deveined and diced
• 1tsp ginger finely grated
• 2 tsp spring onions or chives finely chopped
• ¼  tsp pepper crushed
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 tsp lime or lemon juice
• 1 tbsp coriander finely chopped
 
Instructions For dough
1. In a large bowl, combine 1½ cup flour, ¼ tsp salt and 1 tsp oil. mix well.
2. add ½ cup water and knead dough for 5 minutes
3. knead to a smooth and soft dough, and rest for 30 minutes.

Instructions For stuffing
1. In a large bowl add chopped prawns, ginger, chives, lemon , salt ,pepper, sesame oil, coriander and mix together (stuffing is ready)
2. To assemble the dumplings take the prepared dough and knead well again for a minute further, pinch a small ball and flatten.
3. now dust with some flour and start to roll using a rolling pin, roll to almost medium thin using a small cup, cut into a circle 4 inch in diameter. make sure you roll from sides and keep the centre slightly thick.
4. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the shrimp mixture into the center of each wrapper. Using your finger, rub the edges of the wrappers with water. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape, pinching the edges to seal.
5. heat a steamer and arrange the dumplings on the tray without touching each other and cook for 3 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked through. Set aside while you cook the remaining dumplings. allow to rest until cool
 
Instructions For tandoori recipe
1. In a large bowl add yogurt, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala, lemon juice, oil, salt
2. mix well making sure all the spices are combined well.
3. Coat the steamed Dumplings with the tandoori marinade & grill in an over at 180 degrees for 8-10 mins
4. Or heat frying pan with 2 tbsp oil and place the marinated dumplings cook for 2 minutes on medium flame. flip over and cook all sides well. cover with a lid
5. allow to rest for 2-3 minutes, or till aroma is infused into dumplings
6. finally, serve tandoori dumpling sprinkled with coriander.  Enjoy ????
