Edible Christmas Gifts
Kelly Lou Ging was in the kitchen to whip up these delicious seasonal treats.
RECIPE
Christmas Shortbread Biscuits
Ingredients:
220g Butter (room temperature)
100g Caster Sugar
350g Plain Flour
1 tsp Milk
Vanilla extract
Method:
- In a mixing bowl beat together the sugar and butter until soft.
- add in a drop of vanilla extract
- add in all the plain flour and mix slowly until mix holds together.
-if the mix is not sticking together or if it's not holding its shape add in a small drop of milk.
-turn the dough out onto a floured work surface and with a non stick rolling pin roll out the dough to approx 0.5cm thickness.
- with a cookie cutter cut out your biscuits and carefully lay them into a lined cookie tray.
- to keep their shape and stop your biscuits spreading in the oven, put them into a fridge to chill for approx 10-15 minutes before baking.
- bake in a preheated oven 165 degrees C for 13 minutes until lightly browned.
- let them cool slightly on the tray to firm up before moving to a wire rack to cool completely
- decorate with icing and lots of sprinkles!
